MaNakudy - Coastal village

Manakudy is a beautiful coastal village. It is the place where one the major river of kanyakumari district, PaLayar joining Arabian sea.

Manakudy village is splitted in to two as Keezha MaNakkudy and Mela MaNakkudy by MaNakkudy Kaayal, a backwater. Both are connected by a bridge. Kaayal (kazhimar) is the place where a river joins in to a sear. The water here is a mixture of fresh water and salt sea water and the fish here will be very tasty. There is a mangrove forest near this place.

There is beautiful church is Mela Manakudy. During tsunami both the villages were affected much. Even a big bridge connecting the villages was collapsed in to pieces. Now a small bridge is there.
